Foals are supposed to come out with their front hooves first
The foal should be born with front legs and head first, with its muzzle clear of the placenta so that it can breathe for the first time as soon as it is born. Then comes their nose and in a few minutes, they should be fully out. It is important to stay alert during foaling season, because foals or their mamas may need help and time is always critical in situations like this.
