Mares can hold their foal back if they sense stress
Mares have shown the ability to govern their labour. This means that if the mare senses stress, she can hold back the foal. This is what we call, „the fetus determines the day, the mare determines the hour”. In this foaling season, most of our mares decided that the time is right around 2am, but some surprised us with a new furry friend in the middle of the day.
